Getting to and from Bridgwater
Our new homes in Bridgwater are situated 2.2 miles away from the M5 – which you can use to get to the likes of Bristol and Exeter within an hour.
You’ll also benefit from direct road access to Burnham Seafront (18 minutes away), Taunton (26 minutes away) and Weston-super-Mare (30 minutes away).
Evergreen Parade also benefits from being just a 6-minute drive away from Bridgwater Train Station. With a regular and direct service to London Paddington (2 hours away by train) and a number of other regular services to the likes of Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central, living in Evergreen Parade offers an easy commute to several of the UK’s major cities.
Things to do in Bridgwater
True to its name, Evergreen Parade is surrounded by green spaces. There are several parks close to the development, including the Bower Lane Ponds, the Parque Barbique, and Coronation Park; the latter two providing play areas for younger children. Further out, you can visit two of Bridgwater’s largest parks: Blake Gardens and Victoria Park.
The local hiking route circles the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal, a levelled tow path for waterside walks. You can also visit the Saltlands Community Woodland, the Meads, and the Durleigh Nature Reserve to view wild birds and waterlife.
There are plenty of local fitness and martial arts classes around Bridgwater, including a kickboxing academy and nearby pilates sessions. Your closest gym is at Trimwise Fitness a 7-minute drive away from home, while other local options include 1610 Sports & Leisure and Muscle 19.
For the kids, you can find the Bridgwater Play Barn a 7-minute drive away from home, as well as the Jolly Jumpers Playzone just south of Bridgwater.
Children have also plenty of space to play outside around Evergreen Parade, with two play areas on-site and plenty of local parks with slides, swings, and jungle gyms nearby.
In the town centre, you’ll find Gallagher Retail Park, which is home to several supermarkets including Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Farm Foods, and the Food Warehouse.
Closer to home, there’s the local Tesco Express, which is within walking distance of our development – a 12-minute walk away.
Popular schools in Bridgwater
There are several good schools within walking distance of our development.
Local primary schools include:
• The Willowdown School – a primary and secondary school, 2 minutes’ walk away, catering to children ages 3-19.
• Bridgwater College Academy – another all-through primary and secondary school that caters to children ages 3-16. The school is just a 20-minute walk or a short drive away.
• Eastover – a local primary school, 5 minutes’ drive away, catering to children ages 5-11.
• Northgate - a primary school an 8-minute drive away, which caters to children ages 2-11.
And secondary schools include:
• The Hargrove School – a 13-minute drive away, Hargrove caters to children ages 11-16.
Then, in terms of nurseries, there’s Sunbeams Pre-School – situated just 10 minutes’ walk away - which caters to babies and toddlers ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. Other local nurseries include the Rainbow Pre-School and the Butterflies Day Nursery.
Living in Bridgwater
There’s plenty of culture and entertainment to be found in Bridgwater, with museums like the Bridgwater Blake Museum and the Somerset Brick & Tile Museum being free and fun ways to learn more about the area’s local history.
The McMillan Theatre regular puts on family-friendly pantomimes and live music events and is less than 20 minutes’ walk from our development.
