Running for 46 years, Pride in the Job is widely regarded as the most prestigious benchmark for exceptional site managers in the house-building industry. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
Thousands of inspections, with meticulous scoring and detailed verifications, have taken place to determine this year's 450 winners from a field of 7,500 sites, representing the top 6% of UK site managers.
Richard Oldroyd, Chief Operating Officer at Bloor Homes said: “Our congratulations go to all the outstanding site managers who have been honoured in this year's NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
“Delivering the high quality homes and first class experience that our customers deserve is central to everything we do - the winning site managers have demonstrated skill, leadership and relentless commitment in pursuit of this, supported by their wider site teams. Our thanks go to NHBC for acknowledging the contribution they are making to the industry.”
The commitment to quality is also reflected in the developer achieving national Five Star status from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for the eighth consecutive year. The status recognises excellence in customer care, including the pre- and post- sale support provided by the site teams.
Site managers are also responsible for bringing through new talent. With careers pathways available through Bloor Homes’ training programmes, the next generation has an exceptional team of Pride in the Job award winning site managers to learn from.
Commenting on the awards, Cassandra Codling, Senior Regional Director at NHBC said: “Congratulations to everyone who has demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality. The judges look for site managers who go beyond strong performance and demonstrate qualities that lift a good site manager to an exceptional one.
“The competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”
The Pride in the Job Quality Award winners will now compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards announced in the autumn, after which the national Supreme Award winner will be announced in January 2027.
