Nuneaton - sometimes called "treacle town" due to its past contributions to the UK's confectionary industry - is a market town in Warwickshire, about 20 minutes from Coventry and a little over half an hour from Birmingham.  

Its proximity to both major cities has made Nuneaton an attractive place to live for those needing to regularly commute to either city on a regular basis, with its convenient location, and its excellent transport links, allowing for one to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle without having to give up the opportunities that the city can provide. 

Where is Nuneaton? 

Nuneaton is a town in the West Midlands, that sits close to the border between Warwickshire and Leicestershire.  

The town is situated about 25 miles east of Birmingham and 20 minutes’ drive from Coventry. 

Transport in Nuneaton

The town’s train station is situated in the town centre, with regular services offered to Birmingham (a 30-minute train journey) and Leicester (a 20-minute train journey), as well as to the likes of Leamington Spa, Manchester, and Crewe. 

There’s also a direct train that runs from Nuneaton to London Euston, operated by Avanti West Coast, which takes about an hour to get you into the capital.  

Both the M6 and the A5 run through Nuneaton, offering you several routes into nearby Birmingham. Commuters can also take the M69 into Leicester.  

Shopping in Nuneaton

There's a market that takes place in the town centre every Wednesday and Saturday, in a pedestrian-only part of the town centre, with stall selling everything from artisan goods to accessories. 

One of the main shopping centres in the town is Abbeygate Shopping Centre, which houses a wide array of retailers, including Peacocks, AJ Clothing, Odyssey Furniture, and Daniels Jewellers. 

Things to do in Nuneaton

Nuneaton has its fair share of country parks, with the Hartshill Hayes Country Park and the Arbury Hall estate coming highly recommended.  

The town is also home to a number of nature reserves, including Griff Hollows, Windmill Hill and Bermuda Lake.  

There are also several museums to explore, with the Grant WW2 Museum, the Nuneaton Heritage Centre and the Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery being particularly popular.

Hinckley sits adjacent to Nuneaton and, amongst its many amenities, also offers its own train station that is situated about 7 minutes' drive from our development in Hinckley.  

Better suited to those with children, as the town boasts several highly rated schools and playgrounds, Hinckley is perfect for those wanting to raise a family but still benefit from Nuneaton's excellent transport links.  

Atherstone 

Atherstone is a small town located along the A5 between Nuneaton and Tamworth and is a slightly more rural alternative to Nuneaton. The town is home to several nature reserves, golf courses and fishing waters, and is a little under half an hour's drive from Birmingham city centre.

Keresley
