Getting to and from Haverhill

Our new homes in Haverhillare conveniently located within a mile of Haverhill town centre meaning that local journeys can easily be taken on foot or by bike.

Further afield, Cambridge Science Park, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and Cambridge city centre are all within a 30-minute drive from our new homes for sale in Haverhill or a 50-minute ride on the No. 13 bus.

To get to London, you can reach Audley End station in 30 minutes by car where regular trains to Liverpool Street take less than an hour.

In terms of road links, Stansted Airport is a 45-minute drive away from Haverhill via the B1051, and the M11 can be reached in just 25 minutes. The attractive market town of Bury St Edmunds is a 33-minute drive away via the A134.

Things to do in Haverhill

From our new homes in Haverhill, everything you need is close at hand. For supermarket shopping, Tesco and Aldi are less than a mile away in Haverhill town centre, and the nearest Sainsbury’s is a 5-minute drive.

For bigger purchases, Cambridge Retail Park is a 30-minute drive from our new homes in Haverhill. Here you’ll find brands like Sports Direct, Currys and Dunelm. Cambridge city centre itself – a 35-minute drive away – has all the retail opportunities you could wish for, including John Lewis, M&S and Next.

When it comes to eating out, there’s a Prezzo in Haverhill town centre, along with Costa Coffee, JD Wetherspoon and De Maravilla Tapas.

For your health needs, Haverhill Family Practice and Unity Healthcare both offer GP services within a 4-minute drive of our development. For more pressing medical needs, Addenbrooke’s Hospital is within a 30-minute drive and has an excellent reputation. West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds is also a 30-minute drive away. It offers emergency care as well as some specialist and community services.

Fitness enthusiasts will be happy to find PureGym and Real Bodies Gym both within a 6-minute drive of the development. Haverhill Leisure Centre is just a 5-minute drive away and has something for all the family with a climbing wall, soft play, and two swimming pools.

Popular schools in Haverhill

There’s a good choice of schools and nurseries in the Haverhill area, many of which are within walking distance of the development.

Children between the ages of 2 and 4 will be given a warm welcome at Little Wonders Pre School. Based at Westfield Academy Primary School on Chalkstone Way, the preschool has a lovely outdoor play area and is a 20-minute walk from Bloor Homes at Great Wilsey Park.

Unity Stars Nursery provides a safe, home-from-home environment for children aged 0-4 years, only a 5-minute drive away.

Options for primary-age children near our Haverhill new buildsinclude:

• Westfield Academy Primary School – The closest school to our development, Westfield brings a friendly approach to the education of children aged 3 to 11.
• Coupals Primary Academy – Less than 6 minutes’ drive away, Coupals Primary Academy accepts pupils from 4 to 11 years old, placing an emphasis on a creative approach to learning.
• Clements Primary Academy – Clements offers a nurturing environment for children aged between 2 and 11. It’s just an 8-minute drive from your new home in Haverhill.
• Place Farm Primary Academy – Welcoming pupils between the ages of 3 and 11, Place Farm follows an ‘ambitious’ curriculum, and its staff are experienced at supporting children with additional needs. It’s a 7-minute drive from our development.
• Barnardiston Hall – Only a 7-minute drive away, this independent prep school for pupils aged 3 to 13 has a beautiful, rural campus with excellent facilities.

For older children, there are a number of well-regarded secondary schools in and around Haverhill, including:

• Stoke College – Set in 30 acres of beautiful Suffolk parkland, a 16-minute drive from our development, this friendly independent school offers both day and boarding provision for 11 to 18-year-olds.

For further education, it’s worth considering West Suffolk College for BTECs and apprenticeships, and Anglia Ruskin University for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Both are under a 40-minute drive from the development, as is the world-famous University of Cambridge.

Living in Haverhill

A little further afield, Jacobean mansion Audley End House & Gardens is well worth a visit for its stunning architecture and extensive grounds. National Trust properties Anglesey Abbey and Ickworth Estate are also great for a day out, with lots to do for the whole family. All three of these attractions are less than a 30-minute drive away from Haverhill.

Also a half-hour drive from our new homes, The Imperial War Museum at Duxford tells the story of aviation from World War One to the present day via interactive exhibits, air shows and aircraft displays.
