Getting to and from Wimborne

Wimborne Chase is an ideal development to commute to and from. 

Poole is just 12 minutes’ drive away while Bournemouth is a 25-minute drive and Dorchester is about half an hour away. 

The nearest train station is in Poole. It takes about 20 minutes to drive from our development to the station and there are hourly services to London Waterloo, which takes a little over 2 hours to get to, as well as services to Weymouth and Bournemouth (from where you can change for services to Manchester Piccadilly, Basingstoke and Winchester). 

There’s also a bus stop about 10 minutes’ walk from our development, where you can catch the number 3 or 3x bus to Poole. 

Our new homes in Wimborne are just a 13-minute walk from WOW Ladies Fitness - a women’s fitness centre. There’s also the Ferndown Leisure Centre, a 14-minute drive away, which offers swimming pools, trampolines and gymnasiums. 

Nearby hiking routes include the Castleman Trailway - a 7-minute drive away, as well as a hiking route alongside the Cannon Hill Plantation - a 9-minute drive away. 

Then there’s the Holt Heath Nature Reserve - an 11-minute drive away, and the King Down Drove - a 9-minute drive away in Cranborne Chase. 

Wimborne also has its fair share of sports clubs, conveniently all within 1.5 miles of our development. These include the Wimborne Cricket Club, the Wimborne Rugby Club, the Wimborne Town Football Club, the Wimborne Tennis Club, and the Wimborne Bowls Club.

There’s are 2 play parks about 15 minutes’ walk from our development, the play park at Crown Mead the one at the Redcotts Playing Fields. 

There’s also the Street Light Community Centre, 13 minutes’ walk from our development, which features a soft play area as well as a skate park.    

Nearby Allendale Community Centre hosts the weekly Wimborne Market. Just 13 minutes’ walk away from our development, it’s a lovely place to visit for your fresh produce. 

Speaking of shops, Wimborne Town Centre is home to a number of independent clothing stores including Seasalt Cornwall, Phase Eight, and Crew Clothing. 

You can also find a Co-op, an M&S and a Waitrose in the town centre too, as well as a local fishmonger – Bell's Famous Fisheries – and a butcher – Keating's Butchers. 

Wimborne Chase is within walking distance of three nurseries, all of which provide full day care:

•  Little Caterpillars Nursery - Located within the Wimborne First primary school, Little Caterpillars is a 5-minute walk away from our development. 
• Wimborne First Kindergarten - Wimborne Kindergarten is a 13-minute walk or a 4-minute drive into Wimborne Minster. 
•  River House Nursery - River House is located a 5-minute walk away from Wimborne Chase. 

In Wimborne, students attend a 3-tiered schooling system. ‘First’ schools accept children up to the age of 9, while 9-13 year olds attend ‘Middle’ school before moving on to secondary education. Local ‘First’ schools include: 

•  Wimborne First School and Nursery - Attached to the Little Caterpillars Nursery, Wimborne First accepts children between 2 and 9 years old and is located a 6-minute walk away from home. 
• St John’s CE VC First School - St John’s enrols children between 5 and 9 and is located a 5-minute drive away from Wimborne Chase.
•  Pamphill Church of England First School - Pamphill is located an 8-minute drive away in Cowgrove, and also accepts children between 5 and 9 years old. 

Middle schools for children between the ages of 9 and 13 include: 

•  St Michael’s CE Middle School - A Church of England school, St Michael’s is located 5 minutes’ drive away from our development. 
•  Allenbourn Middle School - Allenbourn is another highly rated school about a 10-minute walk away.

There are four secondary schools close to Wimborne Chase, including: 

•  Queen Elizabeth’s School - A secondary school with a sixth form attached, Queen Elizabeth’s sees students through from 13 to 18 years old. The school is located 7 minutes’ drive away.
• Corfe Hills School - Located a 12-minute drive away on the edge of Poole, Corfe Hills also accepts students between 13 and 18 and operates a sixth form. 
• Ferndown Upper School - Ferndown is a secondary school and sixth form accepting students between 13 and 19. The school is a 16-minute drive from our development.
•  Beaucroft College - Beaucroft is a school that caters specifically to children with special educational needs and disabilities between the ages of 4 and 19. The school is just 13 minutes’ walk from Wimborne Chase. 

The site of our is ideally situated near the towns of Bournemouth and Poole new homes, Wimborne is ideally situated near the towns of Bournemouth and Poole, with residents at Wimborne Chase enjoying the amenities offered by both. 

Our development is just 20 minutes’ walk from Cranborne Chase – an area of Area of National Beauty - with other national parks - like the New Forest, the Dorset National Landscape and the Isle of Wight – nearby as well. 

There are also several beaches within 30 minutes’ drive of Wimborne in the neighbouring Bournemouth too. including those found in Wimborne, itself, is known for its rich cultural scene and museums. There’s the National Trust’s, “Kingston Lacy”, just 8 minutes’ drive from our development, with the Iron Age remnants of the Badbury Rings on display, only 9 minutes’ away.

There’s also a 500-seat theatre – the Tivoli Theatre – a short 12-minute stroll from our development. The Tivoli regularly puts on comedy evenings, spoken word poetry events, drag shows, and musical tributes.
