Getting to and from Horndean

We're situated minutes away from the A3, which connects our development to the likes of London and Portsmouth.

Our new builds are near Portsmouth, with it only taking about 15 minutes to get from Horndean to Portsmouth via the A3. You can also get into London in a little over an hour. 

The likes of Guildford and Petersfield are also easily accessible via the A3. 

In terms of trains, the station nearest to our development is Rowlands Castle, which runs a number of regular services to London Waterloo – with a direct train taking around 1 hour 20 minutes to get you into the capital. 

Other routes include services to Portsmouth Harbour, Bedhampton, Havant, and Petersfield. 

The main bus stop is the Precinct Bus Stop, which is about 15 minutes’ walk from our development. There’s a bus every 20 minutes, during the week, to Clanfield, as well as other buses to the likes of Petersfield and Portsmouth.

Southampton Airport is also only about half an hour away from our development via the M27.

Things to do in Horndean

There’s a park about 15 minutes’ walk from our development – the Hazelton Common Nature Reserve. The nature reserve is an expansive woodland offering some excellent hiking routes. There’s also Deep Dell Park about 20 minutes away. 

There are also a number of gyms within a few minutes’ drive of our development, including PureGym – 7 minutes’ drive away, as well as Horizon Waterlooville and CrossFit Iron Duke – both 9 minutes’ drive away. 

There are two large shopping centres within 3 miles of our development -The Boulevard and The Westbrook Centre – and between them, you’ll find a diverse array of stores and cafes, including Holland & Barrett, Costa and EE, as well as various independent parlours and shops. 

There are also several supermarkets within 3 miles of our development, including Morrisons, Premier, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, and Lidl.

There are several primary schools within minutes of our development, these include: 

Horndean Infant School - A school for 3- to 7-year-olds, Horndean Infant School is just 3 minutes’ drive from our development. 

Horndean CofE Junior School - Located on the same site as Horndean Infant school, Horndean CofE provides an option for older children aged 7-11. 

Padnell Infant School - 7 minutes’ drive from home, the Padnell Infant School caters for children ages 4-7.

Padnell Junior School - An option for older kids, Padnell Junior School is the next step up from Padnell Infant School and caters to children ages 7-11. 

Woodcroft Primary School - Located 5 minutes’ drive away from our development, Woodcroft is a primary school for children between the ages of 4 and 11.

There are also several secondary schools in Horndean to choose from, including: 

Horndean Technology College - 4 minutes’ drive from our development, this college offers a technology-focused curriculum and caters to children ages 11-16.

The Cowplain School - Cowplain is 7 minutes’ drive from our development and offers a more diverse curriculum. The school caters for children between the ages of 11 and 16.

Rachel Madocks School - Catering to children with special educational needs and disabilities, Rachel Maddocks is an all-through school taking in students all the way from 2 up until 19. The school is just 8 minutes’ drive away from our development. 

There’s also HSDC South Downs, a college 8 minutes’ drive from our development. The college offers a wide range of options to its students, including apprenticeships and a number of access courses. 
 
Living in Horndean

With its proximity to the seaside, being 19 minutes’ drive from the beach at South Hayling, and its rural surroundings, the site of our new builds, Horndean, is a village with plenty to offer, especially to young families.
