Getting to and from Burton-on-Trent

Our new homes in Burton on Trent are just a minute’s drive from the A511, with this A-road providing an easy route to Ashby-de-la-Zouch (half an hour’s drive away) and Leicester (a little over an hour away).

We’re also just 10 minutes away from the A50, which provides a direct route to Stoke-on-Trent (about 40 minutes away). Other nearby towns include Derby, Lichfield, Polesworth, and Uttoxeter – all of which can be reached in under 40 minutes.

The development is within walking distance of a bus stop, with the bus stop on Harehedge Lane – 10 minutes’ walk away – providing services to both Burton Town Centre and neighbouring Uttoxeter. 

Burton train station is just 8 minutes’ drive from our development, with a number of trains running from Burton on Trent to Birmingham New Street (35 minutes away) and Nottingham (40 minutes away). There are also direct services offered to destinations further out, including Cardiff, Dundee and Edinburgh.

Things to do in Burton-on-Trent

There’s a park just behind our development – The Outwoods Woodland Park – and we’re less than 5 minutes’ drive from the local community centre. We’re also within 5 minutes’ drive of St Luke’s Park and Horninglow Community Park, which offers plenty of family friendly amenities including a jungle gym for the little ones to explore. 

There’s also a sports centre with a track-and-field facility 10 minutes away as well as several gyms within 3 miles of our development, including CrossFit Mercia, The Gym Group and Meadowside Leisure Centre. 

In terms of shopping, there’s a Co-op within 3 minutes’ drive of our development and a retail park 9 minutes away – the Middleway Retail Park - which features, amongst other stores, a Matalan and a B&M as well as a Cineworld cinema. 

Burton also runs an indoor market a few times a week from its Market Hall – a 12-minute drive from our development. The market takes place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. 

Popular schools in Burton-on-Trent

 There are several primary schools near our development. These include: 

• Saint Modwen's Catholic Primary School - Situated 12 minutes’ walk away from our development, Saint Modwen’s is a Catholic school that caters for children between the ages of 3 and 11. 
• Outwoods Primary School - 14 minutes’ walk from home, Outwoods also accepts children from 3-11. 
• Mosley Academy Primary School - The Mosley Academy is a 3-minute drive away and takes on pupils between the ages of 4 and 11. 

There are also four secondary schools in the local area, including: 

• The de Ferrers Academy - The de Ferrers Academy has two different campuses - one 15 minutes’ walk away from our development and the other slightly further out – about a 25-minute walk. The school offers a sixth form option – catering to children from the age of 11 till they’re 18. 
• Fountains High School - Fountains is a special school catering to children with special educational needs and disabilities from the age of 11 till they’re 18. The school is 3 minutes’ drive away.
• Paget High School - Also offering vocational and practical qualifications, Paget High School is 15 minutes’ drive from our development and caters to children ages 11-18.
• John Taylor High School - John Taylor is 14 minutes away and caters to children between the ages of 11 and 18. 

Living in Burton-on-Trent

A beautiful rural town, there are several golf courses to choose from in Burton, including the Belmont Golf Course, about 6 minutes’ drive from our development.

We’re also within 6 miles of a number of nature reserves, including Branston Leas, Drakelow, Branston Reservoir, Tucklesholme, the Barton Reservoir, and the Washlands Circular.

We’re also near a couple of family friendly farms, including the Church Farm Tea Rooms – a 5-minute drive away, and the National Forest Adventure Farm – 6 minutes’ drive away. 

In town, you’ll also find plenty to do. There’s the Brewhouse Theatre, 12 minutes’ drive away, which puts on a wide variety of performances, including standup comedy, magic shows, musical tributes, and classic plays. There’s also a Cineworld in the town centre too.
