Getting to and from Didcot
Didcot has its own train station at Didcot Parkway, just a five-minute drive from our new homes. This station offers regular services into Reading (15 minutes), Oxford (20 minutes) and London Paddington (40 minutes), for easy commutes and days out.
Residents can also catch the Didcot Parkway bus from outside the station or from the stop closest to our development. This service is a reliable link between local areas, including Wallingford, Henley, Abingdon, Wantage, and Oxford.
As for major roads, Didcot is situated along the A34 which provides a route into Oxford and Newbury in just 30 minutes.
Access roundabouts for the M40 and M4 are also 35 minutes’ drive away from our new build homes, providing connections to major cities, such as Birmingham (2 hours) and London (2 hours and 15 minutes), as well as Reading (35 minutes) and Swindon (1 hour).
Things to do in Didcot
Our new build homes benefit from proximity to a range of Didcot’s local amenities. Just outside the Brunel Gardens development is a Tesco Superstore with a petrol station and InPost Locker. Halfords, Pets at Home and B&M are also located opposite the supermarket.
In the town centre, you’ll find Sainsbury’s, Aldi and an M&S Foodhall, providing more options for your weekly shop, while Nando’s, Berro Lounge and The Ladygrove pub are popular spots for dinner and are all within 10 minutes’ drive of our development.
The Orchard Centre is 8 minutes’ drive from our new homes and offers an indoor-outdoor shopping experience with many stores, including TK Maxx, H&M, Waterstones, Pandora, Boots.
As for health facilities, there are several local GP surgeries, dentists and pharmacies in Didcot. The closest Minor Injuries Unit can be found in neighbouring Abingdon (30 minutes’ drive), while the John Radcliffe Hospital is located in Oxford (45 minutes’ drive).

Making the school run easier, there are several well-regarded nurseries, primary and secondary schools near our Didcot new homes. These include:
- Hadden Hill Nursery and Preschool – Less than 2-minutes down the road from our development, Hadden Hill has places for babies from 3 months old up to children of 4 years. It’s split into a nursery, and lower and upper preschools, each designed to encourage the best development for each age group.
- All Saints Church of England Primary School – Located in the town centre, just 5 minutes’ drive from our new homes, this C of E school accepts children aged 3+ into their nursery and offers school admissions for Reception to Year 6.
- Willowcroft Community School – Willowcroft aims to provide a happy and positive environment for all pupils, including those with Special Education Needs. A 6-minute drive from Brunel Gardens, this school accepts children from Reception through to Year 6.
- Aureus School Didcot Girls’ School – With an Outstanding Ofsted rating, this comprehensive secondary school for girls is located 8-minutes’ drive away from our new build homes, in the centre of Didcot. They aim to empower girls to become resilient and aim high.
- Aureus School – Taking boys and girls in Years 7-11, this secondary school is committed to providing an exceptional learning environment that fosters ambition in every student. Located on the west side of the town, it’s less than 15 minutes from our homes.
Additionally, Didcot benefits from nearby colleges and universities for older students that are all within driving distance of our development.
- Abingdon & Witney College – The closest college to our development can be found in Abingdon, a 30-minute drive away. It offers a variety of courses for school leavers, undergraduates, as well as apprenticeships and part-time or evening classes.
- City of Oxford College – Located in Oxford city centre, this college spans across two campuses with classrooms and replicas of real-world settings for enhanced learning. From our new build homes in Hadden Hill, Didcot, it’s a journey of around 30 minutes.
Nearby, in the city of Oxford, you’ll find the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes. Both are just a half an hour drive of our Brunel Gardens development, while the University of Reading is also only 45 minutes away.
Living in Didcot
Our new homes in Didcot are located at Hadden Hill, a spot to the east of the town with views across the North Wessex Downs National Landscape. This area is full of nature and wildlife and provides an abundance of walking and cycling routes for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.
Within walking distance of our development is the Hadden Hill Golf Club, an 18-hole course that’s open to members and visitors, and is complete with a clubhouse.
Within 5 minutes’ drive, you can reach Didcot town centre, which offers plenty of sports and leisure facilities, including PureGym, Snap Fitness and the Didcot Wave and Leisure Centre.
In the same complex as The Orchard Centre, you’ll find Cineworld for the latest film releases, and the Cornerstone Arts Centre. At this vibrant, creative hub, you can explore the art gallery, relax in the café, attend a class or workshop, or enjoy a music or theatre show.
The town also has activities for all members of the family, including the Bounce Park, the Didcot Railway Centre and the Didcot Escape Rooms, which are all less than 15 minutes’ drive from our Brunel Gardens new homes.
For bigger days out, Oxford is easy to reach by car or train and offers a range of popular activities for all ages. The city is home to the Museum of Natural History and the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, or you can take a punting trip along the scenic River Cherwell.
