Recreation 
There are plenty of lovely places to visit in the local area. Queens Park is a traditional Victorian park which has recently undergone extensive renovations to bring her back to her former glory. Set within 45 acres of landscaped gardens you will find the Crown Green bowling, play area and Lakeside Pavilion. The park provides the ideal setting for a relaxed family day out. Explore the vast woodlands or sit by the lakeside and enjoy a picnic overlooking the water. They hosts a number of events throughout the year to bring the community together, including Family Fun Days, fireworks displays and charity runs.

Lakemore Farm Park is just down the road from Saxon Gate, the perfect day out for the family. They offer a range of fantastic activities such as free craft sessions, an indoor play barn complete with ball pool and sandpit, crazy golf and a small petting farm. If you have little ones they will love feeding the Llamas, Pygmy Goats, Shetland ponies and sheep.

A few minutes walk from the town centre is the Phoenix Leisure Park, home to Odeon Cinema, MFA Bowl, Mecca Bingo and Pizza Hut, providing entertainment for the whole family.
 
If golf is your game, you could become a member of Wychwood Park, widely recognised as one of the premier inland courses in the north of England. Education

Warmingham C of E Primary School, Mablins Lane Community Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are all within a commutable distance and have an Ofsted Good rating.
Secondary School children are also well catered for within the area, St Thomas More Catholic High School and Ruskin High School are within close proximity to Saxon Gate, both achieving Ofsted Good ratings.
