As of October 2025, Prescot’s major shopping centre is undergoing renovations as part of the council’s plans to regenerate the area.  

However, the town centre offers a wide range of independent stores, cafes and bars to explore. You’ll also find a number of other local amenities, including florists, butchers and supermarkets.  

Preston is also about 30 minutes’ drive from Liverpool ONE - a large shopping and entertainment centre offering several well-known high street outlets, including BOSS, H. Samuel and Marks & Spencer. 

Things to do in Prescot

On the northern edge of Prescot is Knowsley Safari Park, the largest drive-through safari in the UK with lions, tigers, sea lions, and Andean bears all available to see. It’s a convenient day trip for residents, especially if you have an annual membership.  

There's also the Shakespeare North Playhouse, a performing arts theatre that also has a screen for movies and frequently runs events like spoken word poetry nights and creativity clubs.  

For young children, the Little Legend’s Playhouse provides endless fun, while the Prescot Museum is entertaining for the whole family, allowing visitors to learn about the town’s famous clock and its storied watchmaking past.
