Things to do in and around Oadby
Cottage Farm is perfectly located for all the amenities offered by Oadby. Within a short distance of home are a Sainsbury’s (with a pharmacy), an Argos, a medical centre and the popular Oadby Owl pub. Further into town you will find a greater range of shops and services, including banks, a post office, cafes, a library and a small selection of high street and independent names. Of course, you may simply want to enjoy the open space available to you close to town, so you can head to Ellis Park or Coombe Park easily. And for any sports enthusiasts, Glen Gorse Golf Club can be reached in 5 minutes by car, or if you prefer to watch sports rather than take part, Leicester Racecourse is between Oadby and the city itself. 
Just 5 miles north of Cottage Farm is the popular and bustling city of Leicester. There are plenty of things to see, do and experience here. The Highcross Shopping Centre is full of well-known high street names, including Debenhams and John Lewis, as well as a choice of chain restaurants and cafes. There is also a multiscreen cinema and a large gym. Outside the centre, you will find a further range of places to eat and drink, as well as theatres, live music venues and an increasingly-popular escape room, if you want to experience something a little different. 
Leicester is also a city full of history. Now famed for its discovery of King Richard III’s remains in 2012, there is a lot to learn about the monarch, with a statue and a visitor centre in the city. Transport in and around Oadby
Commuters will appreciate the excellent transport links close to these new houses for sale in Oadby. The A6 runs directly past the town and allows for direct journeys to Leicester (18 minutes), Market Harborough (20 minutes) and Kettering (30 minutes). The M1 can also be accessed in around 20 minutes, and provides routes for a host of locations north and south.
Leicester train station is around 5 miles from Cottage Farm, and provides regular services to Rugby (33 minutes), Nottingham (30 minutes), Birmingham New Street (50 minutes) and London St Pancras (1 hour 9 minutes).

And for older students, the ‘Outstanding’ Gartree High School is 1.1 miles away, with Manor High School (‘Good’) is around 1.3 miles.
