Getting to and from Newton Abbot
Seale Hayne shares Newton Abbot’s strong transport links, making it a convenient location to commute to and from. The A380 runs directly through the town, providing easy access south to Paignton in around 25 minutes and north to Exeter in under 40 minutes, where drivers can join the M5 for travel across the South West of England.
Rail connections are equally accessible, with Newton Abbot train station located just over 10 minutes’ drive away from our new homes in Newton Abbot. From here, residents can access regular services to Plymouth in around 40 minutes, Exeter in approximately 45 minutes, and direct routes to London in under three hours.
There’s also a nearby bus stop on Ashburton Road, offering a convenient public transport option, with the 88 bus running an hourly service to Newton town centre, getting you into the town centre in just 9 minutes.
The closest airport is Exeter Airport, which runs a number of domestic flights and is less than a 30-minute drive away. For international flights, Bristol Airport is also within reach, being only an hour and a half away.
Things to do in Newton Abbot
Newton Abbot is well equipped with a wide range of everyday amenities. Within just a 5-minute drive from Farleigh Gardens, residents can find a local Co-op, as well as a traditional fish and chip shop.
Further into the town centre, residents can find a number of major supermarkets, including Aldi, Lidl, Iceland, Tesco, and Asda, as well as high-street retailers at Market Walk, such as Boots, Poundland, Holland & Barrett, New Look, and Clarks.
Newton Abbot is also home to several independent cafés, a butcher, a bakery, and regular markets that continue its market town heritage. Here, you can shop for a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, gifts, clothing, and locally made crafts.
For sport and recreation, The Rec is a popular facility with several sports clubs, including squash, tennis, football, and cricket, while locals can enjoy the pool, sauna and gym classes at the Newton Abbot Leisure Centre. For local healthcare within easy reach of our Seale Hayne new builds, Newton Abbot Community Hospital is just 15 minutes away and offers a minor injury unit, while the larger Torbay Hospital is around half an hour’s drive away. One of the closest primary schools to our new homes, it’s just over a 5-minute drive from the Farleigh Gardens development.
- Blackpool CofE Primary School– A Church of England primary school with nursery provision, Blackpool Primary puts an emphasis on inclusion, creativity and wellbeing. Just 10 minutes from our Seale Hayne development, the school is open to children aged 4-11.
For older children, there are several secondary schools within easy reach of our new homes, each offering a broad range of academic and vocational pathways:
- Coombeshead Academy– Offering a wide academic curriculum and an excellent sixth form option, Coombeshead caters for children aged 11-18 and is situated just 5 minutes’ drive from our development.
