Leisure
Within a short drive, Wokingham town centre can be reached where a wide range of shops are found from high street favourites to one-off quirky independent shops. Wokingham also holds several markets and has a wide range of cafes and popular restaurants. Reading town centre must not be forgotten being one of the UK’s top retail destinations with The Oracle and Broad Street Mall which offer independent shops and high street stores. The town centre, which sits on the river, is dotted with restaurants and other popular eateries offering a wide range of international favourites. The town is also known as being the home of The Hexagon theatre, a multi-purpose venue, and boasts six museums and the ancient Abbey Ruins, burial place of Henry I. There are events and festivals here throughout the year – the biggest and most famous being Reading Festival, running since 1971, the second largest UK music festival after Glastonbury.
Further afield, but just half an hour away, the historic town of Windsor is rich in history and royal tradition. This riverside town offers an eclectic range of shops and restaurants and its narrow cobbled streets are perfect for exploring. It is also the home of Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, a must-see attraction and a favoured residence of the Queen.
All in all, you’ll find it’s easy to live life to the full here – especially in a new Bloor home of your own at Lakeside Gardens.
