Bloor Homes Western and Alcester Town Council commemorate six former Mayors of Alcester

Bloor Homes Western and Alcester Town Council have commemorated six former Mayors of Alcester at a street naming ceremony on the Northern Phase of the Alcester Park development.

Current Mayor, Cllr Mr Vaughan Blake was joined at the development by friends and families of the former Mayors, members of the Town Council and staff from Bloor Homes, before each of the new street name signs were officially unveiled with their own ribbon-cutting ceremony. He said: “The naming of these six roads after past Mayors represents the respect for the hard work and dedication shown by the individuals concerned.”
Mayors Drive, the main route through the Northern Phase has six roads branching from it, all named after former Mayors. A further seven streets on the Southern phase will also commemorate members of the community who have been nominated by members of the public for making a positive impact on Alcester.
Steve Roberts, Managing Director at Bloor Homes’ Western region, said: “We are proud of our partnership with Alcester Town Council and it is a real privilege to honour the former Mayors through this initiative. We look forward to unveiling the street names in the Southern phase when Alcester Park nears completion, and to welcoming their friends and families to celebrate the new street names there when the time comes.”
