Situated on the southern outskirts of Chippenham, Hilltop View is ideally situated for the excellent amenities of Chippenham. Within less than a mile, you’ll find a Sainsbury’s supermarket and a range of major retail outlets including B&Q, Curry’s PC World and more.

In Chippenham town centre, less than 2 miles away, there is a good range of shops and stores. What’s more, Chippenham is a town steeped in history with the Buttercross dating back to c1570 and the grade I listed iconic timber-framed building, The Yelde Hall, having stood in the town since at least the 15th Century.

Surrounded by great countryside and places to enjoy such as Bowood House, with its historic home to the Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne and the Spa and Golf hotel. Chippenham has some incredible walks including the Chippenham to Calne railway line which is a 6 mile stretch of disused railway taking you straight through the heart of farm land. Nearby you can also visit Corsham Court and meet its resident peacocks.

Transport

Hilltop View is extremely well situated for travelling, both for commuters to Bath (12.5 miles, 30 mins), Swindon (22 miles, 34 mins) or Bristol (30 miles, 40 mins), and for anyone driving or using public transport around the area.

The M4 Motorway (Junction 17, 5 miles) is an important link for drivers, with London (100 miles, 2hrs 6mins) and Cardiff (62 miles, 1 hr 11mins) easily reached. The A4 and the A350 roads are also important links to local towns and villages including Corsham (9 mins), Melksham (18 mins), Calne (22 mins) and Bradford on Avon (25 mins).

By train, Chippenham station is just under 2 miles from Hilltop View. Regular services run to London (Paddington from 73 mins) and Bristol (Temple Meads from 28 mins).

Local bus services are frequent from Hilltop View to the town centre, while the nearest international airport, Bristol (38 miles), is just over an hour’s drive away.

Schools

The town of Chippenham is noted for good schools for all ages, especially at the town’s two historic secondary schools, Hardenhuish School and Sheldon School, both rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
For younger children, where a walk or a short drive to school is of prime importance, there is a good choice, from nurseries up to age 11. Schools include Ivy Lane Primary School, Kings Lodge Primary School, Charter Primary School,  Monkton Park Primary School, St Marys RC Primary School and  Queens Crescent Primary School.  All of these are ranked ‘Good’.

For older students, Bath and Bristol both have highly rated Universities and Colleges of Further Education.

At Hilltop View, families will find good schools for all ages close at hand. The nearest primary school is Queens Crescent School (Ofsted ranked ‘Good’), less than a mile away. Popular secondary schools in Chippenham include Hardenhuish and Sheldon schools.
