With Tewkesbury high street less than 2 miles from home, you can choose from any number of places to eat and drink, along with places to shop. The town centre offers convenient free street parking for the maximum of an hour, as well as a selection of well-placed Pay & Display short and long stay car parks around the town.

The town’s twice-weekly market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Spring Gardens car park, just off the high street. A Farmers’ & Craft Market is held on the second Saturday of the month between February and December in the Abbey Lawns Car Park. Supermarket shopping is available from Tesco Metro in the centre as well as Morrisons and Aldi on the outskirts of town.

Whether you want to catch a show or a film, visiting the newly refurbished The Roses is always a great experience. Sometimes it's a theatre, at other times a cinema and there are occasions when it's a place to learn. For keeping fit, there's Tewkesbury Leisure Centre - the town's brand new fitness facility. Some of Tewkesbury's other famous landmarks include the striking sculpture ‘The Arrivall’- a magnificent commemoration of the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471, representing both victory and defeat. Sculpted out of local trees and contrasting metal, these two grand horses and one knight are a wonderful attribute to Tewkesbury and a poignant reminder of a turning point in history.  With just a few undulating hills and a mostly flat terrain, Tewkesbury is a popular destination for road cyclists. The town is on National Route 45 of the National Cycle Network, which runs for 270 miles and links Chester with Salisbury via Whitchurch, Ironbridge, Bridgnorth, Droitwich Spa, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Cirencester and Swindon

Travelling in and around Tewkesbury

Getting out and about, whether for work or pleasure, by road or rail, is easy. The nearest train station is Ashchurch for Tewkesbury, just 2.3 miles from the town centre. Tewkesbury is served by the M5 and M50 motorways and the A38 and A46 trunk roads. There are frequent direct buses to Ashchurch for Tewkesbury railway station and to Cheltenham. Other direct bus services include Gloucester and Evesham.
