Allesley is a modern village with a good choice of amenities. Just a short distance from home you will find a convenience store, doctors’ surgery, a small range of independent businesses, a café, post office and a village hall. A little further away, at just over a mile, is Allesley Park. As well as being a large outdoor space, there is also a walled garden, Pitch and Putt area, and for children, there is a fairy garden to enjoy.
For a wider range of shops, culture and entertainment options, the popular city of Coventry is around miles away from home. You will find shops for everything you need and want in the West Orchards and Lower Precinct Shopping Centres, which both have a great choice of high street brands and independent names, as well as places to eat and drink. And if you want to pick up fresh produce, the bustling Coventry Market is a popular destination.
Beyond the shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops, Coventry has plenty more to offer. Entertainment options include cinemas, theatres and an indoor ice rink. Or if you really want to just be in the open air, there are a number of parks and open spaces to relax in.
Alongside all of this, Coventry is also a great place to discover a great deal of history. There are museums dedicated to music, transport and watches, and for anyone interested in engineering, the Lanchester Interactive Archive is the place to head to. Of course, Coventry Cathedral - both the current building and the ruins of the ‘old’ Cathedral - are wonderful places to spend time in too, with so much history to be discovered.
Keeping fit is simple in Coventry. There are several gyms and fitness clubs to choose from. But if you want to enjoy a round or two of golf, you will have a number of courses to visit, including Allesley Park Golf Course, which is just over two miles from home.
Around 4 miles from our new collection of homes is Busy Bees Day Nursery at Tile Hill, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. For older children, the ‘Good’ Allesley Primary School is within walking distance of home, while Allesley Hall Primary and St Christopher Primary (both rated ‘Good’) are 1.5 miles and 1.7 miles away respectively.
Older students have the option of independent and state secondary schools. Independent schools include Bablake School, 2.3 miles away, with King Henry VIII School - rated ‘Excellent’ just over 3 miles from home. A little further away are two Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ state schools - Sidney Stringer Academy (3.3 miles) and Finham Park School (4.4 miles).
By train, regular and direct services run from Coventry (3 miles away) to Birmingham New Street (23 minutes), Manchester Piccadilly (1 hour 57 minutes) and London Euston (1 hour 3 minutes).
There are several bus stops throughout the village, allowing for simple travel into and out of Allesley. Services include the X1, 7 and 23.
