Where is Woking?
Woking is located just southwest of London and just north of Guildford. It’s classified as a borough and is situated close to the borders of Greater London, Berkshire, and Hampshire.
It's about an hour's drive from both Central London and Reading and less than an hour from the likes of Slough, Basingstoke and Crawley.
Transport in Woking
There's a regular train, operated by the South Western Railway, that takes commuters from Woking to London's Clapham Junction in less than 20 minutes.
There's also a service from Woking to London Waterloo which takes about 35 minutes.
Heathrow is the airport nearest to Woking, about 24 minutes' drive from the town centre.
Shopping in Woking
There's a small market that takes place 7 days a week in Woking's Victoria Place. Across the market's various kiosks, you'll find everything from South African biltong to fresh vegetables, coffee, and mobile phones.
The town's main shopping centre can also be found in Victoria Place.
