Things to do in Hanslope

Hanslope Fields is the perfect location for anyone who wants to live in a well-connected area, that has good local amenities and open countryside close by. Within a short walk you will find a village shop, a Post Office, churches, a Chinese takeaway, two pubs and a small number of independent businesses including a florist, butcher, running store and a dog groomer. There is also a popular village hall, and the village’s large recreation area is ideal for enjoying some fresh air or letting the younger members of the family run and play. Of course, there is open countryside to escape into close by, so you can also get out and enjoy this whenever you want.

Hanslope has a great deal of history attached to it. Following the Norman Conquest, Hanslope was included in the grant of land to the Norman Maudit family by William the Conqueror. More recent history from the 19th century shows that Hanslope was the heart of Buckinghamshire’s lacemaking industry, with the village’s lace noted as being of a particularly fine quality.

There are several different types of attractions and places of interest close to these new houses for sale in Hanslope. Milton Keynes is home to Willen Lakeside Park, around 9 miles away, where a number of watersport activities can be enjoyed, as well as walks and treetop adventure climbs. There is also Gullivers Land, a children’s theme park. For the adults, The National Bowl is where you can enjoy open air concerts, while 15 miles west is Silverstone, where you experience world-class racing on two and four wheels.

Transport in and around Hanslope

Commuters searching for houses for sale in Hanslope have the advantage of being just a short distance from the A508, A5, A34 and the M1. The ‘A’ roads allow for simple journeys to Milton Keynes (15 minutes), Northampton (26 minutes), Dunstable (36 minutes), Market Harborough (53 minutes) and Oxford (1 hour). The M1 provides routes north and south, as far as London and Leeds, before joining the A1(M).

For rail services, Wolverton station is around 4 miles from home, and provides regular trains to Northampton (13 minutes), Birmingham New Street (1 hour 19 minutes) and London Euston (50 minutes).

And for air travel, Luton Airport is around 33 miles away, and provides flights around the UK and Europe.

Schools and education in Hanslope

Families with children will appreciate the number of Ofsted rated schools within easy reach of our new property for sale. Hanslope Pre-School (rated ‘Good’) and Hanslope Primary School (‘Outstanding’) are both under a mile from home. 

A wider range of schools for all ages can be found in the many villages closer to Milton Keynes. For primary age children, there are two further ‘Outstanding’ schools around 5 miles away - St Mary and St Giles CofE School, and Slated Row School. 

For older students, Ousedale School (‘Good’) is approximately 15 minutes away by car, while the ‘Outstanding’ Sponne School is around 10 miles from Hanslope Fields.
