Getting to and from Somerton
Our development is ideally situated near a number of major roads, being close to the B3153, which connects to the A37, and connects the development to Yeovil (a 25-minute drive away).
Other nearby roads include the A372, which connects our development to Taunton, and the A361, which leads to Glastonbury.
There’s a bus stop just a 4-minute walk from our development, with services that get you into Yeovil and Glastonbury within half an hour, as well as a bus to Taunton that takes about 40 minutes.
There’s also Castle Cary Station, a 20-minute drive away from our development, offering services including trains that gets you into London and Birmingham in about 2 hours, as well as services that get you into Bristol and Exeter in about half an hour.
Bristol Airport is the nearest airport to our development, being 30 miles away.
Things to do in Somerton
For everyday essentials, Somerton Mead is just a 5-minute drive from a Co-op and a Boots, as well as a number of natural food stores like Nature’s Pantry and Cobbs Wholefoods.
There are several boutique clothing shops nearby including the Top Notch Vintage Shop and Circle Green.

Somerton Mead is ideally situated near a couple of great schools, including:
- King Ina Church of England Academy. Just a 10-minute drive from our development, this primary school and nursery caters to children ages 2-11. The school also provides its students with a large sports field, a nature garden and an adventure play area.
- Compton Dundon Catering to children, between the ages of 5 and 14, with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, Compton Dundon is an excellent school, just a 15-minute drive from our development.
