Westfields Women’s Football team has been sponsored by national housebuilder Bloor Homes Western.

The developer, who is building its Hereford Point development, off Roman Road, provided the donation to help the club purchase new kits.

Andrew Morris, Secretary/Chief Executive of Westfields FC said: “When Westfields FC formed a senior ladies’ team this year, we invited Bloor Homes to sponsor the team as its new exciting 400-unit housing development is only one mile from our ground.

“We are indebted to Bloor Homes’ sponsorship and for arranging the kit which the girls proudly wear. The help of Bloor Homes in sponsoring the team has meant that we are able to provide the girls with good quality kit, training facilities and training gear.”

Westfields Women’s FC plays at allpay.park, Hereford. The club was set up in 1966 on the back of England winning the World Cup and they adopted the famous colours of maroon and sky-blue from West Ham United, where World Cup heroes, Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters played their football. The club colours have been ever-present for the last 54 years.  The club currently has 14 teams. The ladies’ section was formed this year as a new team.

Steve Garton, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Western, said: “We are very proud to be supporting Westfields Women’s FC. As a responsible housebuilder, we are committed to working with the local communities in which we develop.

“When we found out about the team’s need for kit for its new women’s team, we were keen to help out. We wish the football club the best of luck for the upcoming season.”

Hereford Point is ideally located close to the open green of the neighbouring golf course and Racecourse, and there is plenty of green open space and footpaths across the development itself. The development lies just two miles from the popular city centre, with its wide variety of local and chain restaurants and high-street stores.

A selection of two, three- and four-bedroom homes is currently available, with prices ranging from £225,000 to £325,000.

Bloor Homes also welcome the Chancellor’s Stamp Duty holiday. With immediate effect Stamp Duty will only be paid on houses worth more than £500,000 until March 31st next year, and with the current low interest rates, now is proving a good time to buy.
