Local pupil’s design makes a big splash at Hereford Point
A Holmer Primary School pupil has designed a superb bedroom for our showhome at Hereford Point
Nine-year-old George Cawley designed a wonderful ocean-themed room which won first prize in the competition run for our Hereford Point development.
As part of the prize, George and his family were invited to see the finished product before the doors of the showhome were opened to the public.
Sally Holt, Regional Sales Manager for Bloor Homes Western, said: “The children’s entries had a great range of themes, which made our task extremely difficult when selecting the winner.
“What made George’s illustration stand out was his unusual design and attention to detail on the furniture as well as decorative accessories.
“His fantastic design perfectly suits the room in our new showhome. We worked hard to ensure the bedroom captured George’s design, and I think he was pleased with the outcome.”
George’s theme was brought to life by leading design consultancy Claude Hooper.
Carrie Edwards, from Claude Hooper, said: “I’d like to thank all the children from Hereford Primary School who took part in the competition and submitted such fantastic designs. It’s always great fun briefing in the design a bedroom competition and helping judge the entries.
“When choosing a winner, we always consider the theme itself but also the way that it would translate into the actual room and within our showhome scheme. We always find it such a challenge to pick a winner, especially because the children always have such imaginative and varied ideas but George came up with an individual and fun design, which we felt would work well as a great showhome bedroom.”
