Why we chose Bloor Homes at Boorley Park
A need for a home with more space and a dog-friendly garden led one couple to buy at Boorley Park
For Ben Mead, and his partner, Vikki Munro, a new home at Bloor Homes’ Boorley Park development in Botley is providing the extra space they need for the family and their new puppy.
The couple upsized from a two-bed apartment in nearby Romsey to a four-bedroom detached home at Boorley Park, making the big move just days before Christmas.
Ben, who is 35 years old and works as a sales professional in the gaming industry, explains: “After almost a year in lockdown, we really felt the need to move to a new home with more space. I have my daughter, Chloe, at weekends and we also have a new puppy, so we were looking for a larger family home, with a generously sized garden. Boorley Park really fits the bill.”
Boorley Park is located in the market village of Botley. Once complete, the development will create a new community that will include a school, sports pitches, community centre and allotments – everything a family could possibly need.
Ben continues: “We really like the surrounding area and being so close to Hedge End Retail Park. Access to the M3 is also close by, making getting about nice and easy. There’s lots of great dog walks on the doorstep, along the River Hamble and at nearby Manor Farm Country Park. From our house, we have a lovely view of a pond and woodland.”
Ben and Vikki bought a Berrington house type. A key selling point of the house is the impressive 27 ft kitchen/dining/family room, which runs the length of the house and has French doors opening out onto the garden. There’s also a separate lounge and home office on the ground floor. Upstairs, there are four spacious bedrooms, the master with an en suite, as well as a family bathroom.
Ben said: “We have so much space! The house was a blank canvas, so we could put our own stamp on it. Having owned a new build before, we were keen to buy new again. There’s so many benefits, from brand-new, up-to-date kitchens, bathrooms and appliances to energy efficiency savings. You can rest assured that any snags will be resolved and for extra peace of mind, there’s a warranty.”
Ben and Vikki used the Assisted Move scheme to move to their new home. Assisted Move involves Bloor Homes arranging valuations to be carried out and then monitoring the progress of your sale, including paying Estate Agents Fees. They will also put you in touch with an Independent Financial Advisor to help with your move, saving you the mortgage valuation fee too.
Ben explains: “The best thing about Assisted Move is that we had another safe pair of hands, project managing the process. This is something that the Boorley Park sales team had done many times before, so it was such an easy thing for us to engage with. It was a no brainer and took the pressure off.
“We knew we wanted to buy a home with Bloor Homes. We’d looked around another of their developments and really feel like their homes stand apart, from the build quality and detailing to design, and our experience of buying with them certainly didn’t disappoint! Our Sales Advisor and Site Manager have both been superb from start to finish. The customer service and quality have been outstanding. We’ve already recommended the development to our friends – in fact, one is now going through the buying process – and we’ve no doubt other friends will follow suit. It’s a great place to live.”
