Bloor Homes Midlands has strengthened its growing team with the appointment of a new Senior Land Director.
David Bignell has taken on the position following a six-year stint as Land Director with Morris Homes.
Working from the privately-owned developer’s regional office in Tamworth, the 34-year-old married father of two will be responsible for the acquisition of new sites across the Midlands.
After graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Planning, David spent 11 years at Morris Homes, joining as Land Manager before being promoted to Land Director five years later.
He subsequently joined Cala Homes as Land Director and had been with the company for nine months when the position with Bloor became available.
David said: “The opportunity to work for a privately-owned company again, particularly one with Bloor’s reputation, was simply too good to miss.
“They are renowned for being straightforward operators who stand by their commitments, and since joining the company I have been impressed by the good systems they have in place and the level of planning support that is provided.
“There is a clear aspiration for growth from Group level and I’m looking forward to playing my part in ensuring that the long-term aspirations of the business are met. I enjoy being at companies for a long period as you can align your aspirations for career development to the business’ aspiration for growth.”
Paul Degg, Regional Managing Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “As a region, our ambition is to significantly increase the delivery of new sites across the Midlands, and David’s appointment is a key element of that growth strategy.
“David has a wealth of experience in the housebuilding industry and an impressive knowledge of the land market in the Midlands, which will be invaluable as we look to grow the business in the years ahead.”
