Crosfield Ladies step into their first season with new sponsorship deal

A newly formed ladies football team in Warrington is entering its debut season on a high after sealing a sponsorship deal with national housebuilder Bloor Homes.

Crosfield Ladies will be sporting a brand-new kit courtesy of the developer when it plays in its first competitive tournaments later this year.

Formed by a group of local mums in July last year, Crosfield Ladies now has a squad of 16 players, who train every week at the Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub off Barrowhall Lane.

The team has already played a number of friendly matches, but badly needed a new strip so that it could enter tournaments run by the Cheshire FA.

And Bloor Homes, which is building a selection of new homes at its nearby Lingley Green development off Omega Boulevard, answered the team’s appeal for a kit sponsor.

Katherine Robinson, from Crosfield Ladies, said: “We have all wanted to play football since we were kids and all the mums in our group have embraced the opportunity that has been presented to them. We are showing that every woman should have the chance to be part of a football team, to challenge themselves and grow.

“To have the support and generosity of Bloor Homes has been amazing. They saw our plea for a kit sponsor and jumped straight in to help us. Now we finally look like a proper team and wear our kits with such pride. It’s a great feeling wearing the blue and yellow, it helps with the community spirit and really makes us feel part of the wider Warrington/Crosfield community.”

Sarah Ransom, Marketing Manager for Bloor Homes North West, said: “At Bloor Homes we always like to support the communities where we build, so we are thrilled to be the first sponsors of the newly formed Crosfield Ladies FC team.

“With the Bloor Homes at Lingley Green development located close to where the team is training, it’s an ideal partnership and we wish the mums the best of luck in their upcoming tournaments.”
