Baby boom at Spring Park
Spring park in Nottingham is experiencing something of a baby boom, with 10 new arrivals since the site launched less than two years ago.
The Spring Park development in Mapperley is proving a popular choice with young couples and families, thanks to its ideal location on the edge of Gedling Country Park, just four miles from the city centre.
Among its residents are no fewer than 13 babies, 10 of whom have been born since their parents moved in to their new homes – and there are two more arrivals on the way.
Many of the new mums at Spring Park have now formed their own WhatsApp group, after meeting at a teddy bear’s picnic held in the development’s showhome.
Bloor Homes Sales Advisor Nicola Bird, who organised the event, said: “I’ve worked at a number of different developments over the years, all of them popular with families, but I’ve never known a baby boom quite like the one we’ve seen at Spring Park.
“Many of the larger four-bedroom homes have been bought by families who already have children, while the two-bedroom properties have proved very popular with young couples who are planning on starting a family."
Residents at Spring Park have got the luxury of having a country park right on their doorstep, whilst being only four miles from the centre of Nottingham. The country park is the perfect place for mums and dads to take their little ones for a stroll, while the play area is ideal for kids who are a little bit older.
“With so many new arrivals at Spring Park since the first residents moved in, we thought it would be nice to get all the new mums together so they could all get to know each other a little better. The teddy bear’s picnic went really well and the mums have already formed their own WhatsApp group so they can stay in touch and join each other on walks in the country park.”
Kelly O’Carroll, 31, who moved to Spring Park with her partner Craig Clarke, her newly-born son Codi and Craig’s son Harley, said: “We were initially attracted to Spring Park by the three-storey house type, but the lovely location next to the country park was an added bonus.
“The view is so beautiful and picturesque and Mapperley has good amenities, which is really important for us having a young family. It has the benefits of city life but with a countryside feel.”
