Girl's football team gets new kit thanks to Bloor Homes

A school football team in West Bridgford has been kitted out in a brand-new strip after securing sponsorship from housebuilder Bloor Homes.

The Rushcliffe School’s girls’ teams had been playing their matches in old kits which had previously been worn by other teams.

But thanks to a £500 donation from Bloor Homes, which is building at its Edwalton Park development in nearby Edwalton, all the girls’ teams now have a smart new maroon kit to play in.

The Nike strip was worn by the Year 7 team for the first time at a county futsal championship in February.

Lyndon Crawley, Head of PE at The Rushcliffe School, hopes the new kit may inspire more girls at the school to take up the sport.

He said: “We are keen to get more of our girls playing for the school team. Anyone who’s played team sports will know the feeling of pulling on a jersey and being a part of something is special and this new kit is certainly special for our girls.

“Previously the girls had been playing in old kits, which didn’t always fit and had become quite worn. It was very important for the team to get a smart new strip and with help from Bloor Homes we now have this kit which future year groups can also benefit from.

“This is the first time that we have been able to supply the girls’ teams with their own exclusive kit and they were delighted when they put it on for the first time. I’d like to thank Bloor Homes for its support because this new kit is really important for all our teams.”

Michele Rose, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “Supporting the local communities in which we build is very important to us, so we are thrilled to be sponsoring the girl’s team at Rushcliffe School.

“We hope our support will enable the school to provide even more opportunities for young girls to take up the game, and we are delighted to see the team wearing its new kit with pride.”
