IM Properties breaks ground in the Midlands

The first phase of IM Properties' new residential scheme at Blythe Valley Park (BVP) has begun, with M.Lambe Construction appointed to start infrastructure works.

BLythe Valley Park is a sustainable, new community and one of the first truly mixed-use schemes in the Midlands on junction 4, M42, combining residential with commercial, industrial and leisure.

Bloor Homes and Crest Nicholson are already signed up to deliver 295 of the total 750 homes to be created amidst the 122 acres of parkland, which surrounds the scheme.

M. Lambe Construction will initially construct new estate infrastructure and undertake highway improvements to open up the scheme for work to commence and provide the infrastructure required to allow residential development to take place.

Bloor Homes will be the first to start building their 170 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom homes, with Crest Nicholson expected to start on site in December.

Richard Knight, associate technical director at IM Land, the strategic land arm of IM Properties who are delivering the residential element at BVP said:

"It is fantastic to see work beginning in both the north and south of the scheme, this site will create much needed quality new homes for younger families, first time buyers and those people wanting to be located near to their work or as part of a thriving new sustainable community.

"We have worked hard with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and our developer partners to make this happen and combined with the c.400,000 sq ft of new and refurbished space IM Properties has created at BVP. This is a significant new scheme creating a thriving new community where people can work, live and relax.".

IM Properties has invested significantly in BVP over the past 12 months to create a strong amenity offering including a new independent coffee shop, Java Lounge. This adds to the Virgin Active Health and Busy Bees nursery already established at the park with further landscaping, public realm, recreational and retail facilities planned over the course of the development.

Michael Lambe, Director, M. Lambe Construction, said: “We really welcome the opportunity to work on such an ambitious new scheme and we're delighted to be working alongside IM Properties and Bloor Homes on the first phase."

Michele Rose, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “We’re extremely proud to be delivering the first homes at this exciting new-mixed use development and now that infrastructure work has begun, we’re looking forward to starting construction work on site later this month (November).

“We will be building a range of high-quality new homes which have been carefully designed to create an attractive and desirable neighbourhood within a village setting. Our development will include a range of different house types to cater for buyers at all stages of the property ladder, and we plan to release the first homes for sale early next year.”
