Students winning design brought to life in new Ledbury showhome
Nine year-old student Isabelle from Ledbury Primary School was invited to officially launch the showhomes at The Arches at Ledbury after winning a competition to design a bedroom which has inspired the real thing.
Interior design company Claude Hooper Interiors took inspiration from Isabelle’s pastel, nature-inspired design to create a bedroom in the four bedroom Verwood showhome. It features a wall mural based on Isabelle’s drawing of a rainbow chameleon, rainbow décor and Isabelle’s suggestion of a bean bag bed for a feline friend.
Ledbury Primary School welcomed Bloor Homes and Claude Hooper Interiors to an assembly before Christmas to brief the students on how to enter and what they were looking for in a design. Isabelle’s winning entry was chosen by Bloor Homes’ Sales Team and Carrie from Claude Hooper Interiors.
Sally Holt, Regional Senior Sales Manager for Bloor Homes, said: “We were very impressed by the significant effort put into all of the entries we received, from Harry Potter inspired drawings to 3D models, but Isabelle’s vibrant room design was lovely and bright, and the pops of colour blended perfectly with the rest of the showhome’s interior scheme.”
The Verwood is one of three showhomes at The Arches showcasing the new two, three and four bedroom homes at the development, as well as energy efficient and sustainability features such as solar panels, Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers and a higher insulation specification.
Steve Garton, Sales Director for Bloor Homes’ Western region, explains: “It’s great to welcome Isabelle to open the showhomes as our local winner, but that’s not all. The team at Claude Hooper interiors has been busy sourcing selected pieces included in the showhomes from Ledbury’s lovely high street shops and local brands, making these our most ‘locally inspired’ showhomes yet!
“Not only are we extremely proud to be bringing our most energy efficient and reduced carbon footprint homes to Ledbury, we will link the development to the town via a further footpath to the Town Trail which will enable people to walk, cycle - or scoot – into town, completely car and traffic free.”
He adds: “Ledbury is renowned for its pretty architecture, cobbled streets, beautiful countryside, and excellent commuter links. It is a very special location, and we are proud to be building a new community here.”
Representatives from Ledbury Town FC and Ledbury Swifts FC who have been working closely with Bloor Homes on plans for a new ground also attended the launch.
The new showhomes and sales centre is now open for people to visit The Arches where they can see Isabelle’s bedroom design and find out more about the new homes. The showhome launch was a huge success and with two homes already reserved, interest is expected to be high.
