New horizon for Bloor Homes, Exeter as £2.7 million office extension completes

Bloor Homes’ Exeter region has a new-look home thanks to the completion of a £2.7 million extension to its Horizon House offices, complete with extended meeting and training and conferencing facilities.

Staff were able to move into the freshly extended offices just as Bloor Homes celebrated the first anniversary of the developer’s newest region, which launched last summer to focus on new developments in Devon and Cornwall.

Regional Managing Director Bradley Davison said: “After a year of working from a combination of a modular building in the car park of the building site and a temporary office suite nearby, we have all watched with anticipation as the new extension took shape. It’s really great to have finally moved into this fantastic new space, which also boasts a twenty-two-seat boardroom and sixty-seat multi-purpose training and conference facility.”

The extension and renovation gives the regional headquarters 17,000 sq ft of office space and has taken twelve months to complete. It includes solar panels on the south face of the roof to generate sustainable power for the building while reducing energy costs, uses the latest LED lighting technology, and has 20 charging points for electric cars.

Bradley adds: “Completion of this project signals our continued commitment to the Exeter region and provides a firm foundation from which to grow the business. 30 members of staff are already permanently based at Horizon House, with room for c. 40 more as we continue to grow.

“Many of our office-based staff are local to Exeter and having offices that are easily accessible close to the A30 and M5 means staff working remotely on our developments can quickly and easily get to us when they visit as well. Having modern, spacious and flexible workspace really showcases what we stand for and is great when attracting talent to the business. We’re very excited about the future.”

Bloor Homes’ Exeter region launched last year to focus on providing the region with a dedicated management team and locally based staff. The extension of Horizon House brings the company’s investment in the new offices to £5 million.

The aim is to both deliver the high-quality new homes Bloor is renowned for, and work collaboratively with local authorities to help address the shortage of affordable housing across the region as part of its developments.

The region currently has developments at Pinhoe, Ivybridge and Cullompton, with more planned for communities across the region. To find out more about Bloor Homes Exeter, the region’s new developments and job vacancies, visit www.bloorhomes.com
