£5.2m solar powered and EV-ready Bloor Homes Midlands HQ under construction

Bloor Homes has confirmed that work by construction partner Deeley Construction has begun on its new £5.2m Midlands regional headquarters in Lichfield.

When it opens in early 2026, the new 18,500 square foot two-storey building will accommodate Bloor Homes’ existing 50 members of staff, with capacity to train and develop further staff in order to help meet the critical regional and national housing needs.

Paul Degg, Managing Director for Bloor Homes’ Midlands region, said: “Planning a new office is an opportunity to futureproof our entire working environment. We are aiming for BREEAM Excellent certification with the new building including a range of sustainability features such as 160 solar panels, 20 electric vehicle charging points, permeable paving and a sustainable urban drainage system. It will also include car parking, landscaping, draining and infrastructure.”

Paul adds: “This is a significant investment to grow our teams as we continue to deliver high quality new homes across the Midlands region, whilst also providing future generations with a firm foundation for ongoing success.”

BREEAM – the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method – is used to specify and measure the sustainability performance of buildings and its industry-leading framework helps projects meet sustainability goals.

Excellent certification will demonstrate that stringent benchmarks used to assess a building’s specification, design, construction and use have been met, with a focus on reduced carbon emissions, low impact design, adaptation to climate change, ecological value and biodiversity protection.

Steve Turner, Construction Director at Deeley Construction, said: “This is the second project we have delivered for Bloor Homes and it is great to strengthen our partnership with one of the UK’s largest housebuilders.

“We have a proven track record of building sustainable workspaces that allow clients to expand, grow and enhance their operations.

“This is a project with green features at its core, incorporating a significant number of solar panels and electric vehicle charging points which will support it in achieving a high sustainability standard.”
