Bloor Homes donates £250 to a local foodbank in Burton-on-Trent
Bloor Homes Midlands region has donated £250 to Burton Hope, a charity located just over 3 miles from the housebuilder’s new Outwood Meadows development in Burton-on-Trent.
Burton Hope is a charity that provides emergency food supplies to people in the local area by offering weekly collection services and food parcel delivery to vulnerable or house-bound individuals. The organisation also runs free budgeting advice sessions, addiction and mental health support, and employment assistance to support the Burton-on-Trent community and health services.
According to Trussell, a national foodbank charity with a similar operation to Burton Hope, 1 in 5 people in the UK live below the poverty line, which is why community fundraising and donations from businesses such as Bloor Homes are vital to enable the important work of local foodbanks to continue.
John Anderson, Chairman at Burton Hope, said: “We encourage anyone in the Burton-on-Trent community who can spare a donation or food package to support us this Christmas, as all donations make a difference to those that need our help, especially at this time of year.
“We would like to thank Bloor Homes for its kind donation. Monetary contributions from local businesses provide a huge boost to our operations and help us to distribute emergency food supplies to as many people as possible.”
The developer offered the donation in the spirit of festive giving, though it upholds a year-round commitment to supporting the communities it builds within.
