Bloor Homes Site Manager Scoops Top Quality Award

Tom Potter, Site Manager at Bloor Homes’ Elowen Garden Village in Whiston has scooped a top award at this year’s NHBC (National Home Builders Council) Pride in the Job Awards 2023.

Tom walked away with the ‘Seal of Excellence’ award after receiving a Pride in the Job Quality Award from NHBC in the summer.

Only winners of the Quality Award can go through to receive a Seal of Excellence, and those who show ‘true quality excellence and encourage and motivate their teams to build new homes to an exceptional standard.’

Tom was one of just four site managers in Bloor Homes’ North West region - and one of the 22 site managers for the developer across the whole of England – to receive a Pride in the Job Quality Award in the summer, an impressive accolade in itself.

Tom said: “The Seal of Excellence is highly regarded across the industry and competition is incredibly tough as there are some really talented site managers out there. It really is a great honour to be recognised at such a high level. That said, it wouldn’t have been possible to achieve this recognition without the dedication and shared vision of my brilliant team, who celebrated with me on the night. Thank you to them for all their hard work.”

Andrew Ward Construction Director at Bloor Homes, added: “Tom is a fantastic team leader who works to the highest standards, setting the bar for the whole team and everyone on his site. This Award is very well deserved and is a reflection on the whole team and the high standards they are working to at Elowen Garden Village.”

In addition to Tom, the other Pride in the Job Quality Award winners for the North West region this summer were: Andrew Worthington at Beamish Place, in Sandymoor, Lewis Legge at Holly Grange in Warrington, and Paul Roberts at Foxcote in Cheadle.

The Quality awards are described by NHBC as ‘being at the heart of its mission to raise standards in housebuilding’. Each year they celebrate the UK’s best site managers across the whole UK, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence to support the delivery of new homes to the highest quality.

They are also known across the industry as ‘the competition all site managers want to win’.
