Getting to and from Carterton
Situated 3 minutes away from the A40, the location of our new homes make it easy to get from Carterton to the likes of Witney (6 minutes away via the A40), Burford (7 minutes away via the A40) and Oxford (24 minutes away via the A40).
You can also get to Hanborough railway station in as little as 20 minutes when going via this A road. From Hanborough, you can catch direct services to Oxford and Worcester Foregate Street, as well as trains to London Paddington, with it taking a little over an hour to get from Hanborough to Paddington.
There’s also a bus stop on Teasel Way, less than 5 minutes’ walk from our development, where you can catch the S1 to Carterton Town Centre, as well as to Oxford.
Things to do in Carterton
There’s a lot to do within walking distance of our development. Carterton Leisure Centre, for example, is just 12 minutes’ walk away and features a swimming pool, a trampoline park, a soft play centre, and a multi-purpose sports hall.
About 15 minutes’ walk away, there’s also the Witney Table Tennis Club, which is definitely worth joining.
If you prefer to go hiking, there’s Willow Meadow Country Park, about 7 minutes’ drive away, which boasts some truly beautiful trails.
In terms of shopping, there’s a Co-op just 5 minutes’ walk away.
There’s also the Woolgate Shopping Centre – an open air shopping centre which offers free parking – that's about 12 minutes’ drive away.
The shopping centre houses a diverse selection of retailers, everything from Waterstones and Bakers Butchers to Mystic Games and a Lynwood Bakery/Café and Coffee Shop, serving high end baked goods and artisan coffees.

There are several primary schools near our development. These include:
● St John Evangelist CofE Primary - A Church of England school catering for children between the ages of 3 and 11. The school is within walking distance of our development, being just 10 minutes’ walk from Brize Meadow.
● Brize Norton Primary - Brize Norton Primary is 3 minutes’ drive from our development and accepts children between the ages of 5 and 11.
● Carterton Primary School - Catering for children from the age of 3 till they’re 11, Carterton Primary is just 4 minutes’ drive from our development.
● Gateway Primary School - Gateway is also 4 minutes’ drive from our development and caters for children ages 4-11.
● Burford School - A boarding school 8 minutes’ drive away. Burford also offers a sixth form option, catering for children between the ages of 11 and 18.
● Cokethorpe School - An all-through independent preparatory school that takes on children from the age of 4 until they turn 18, Cokethorpe is about 12 minutes’ drive from our new homes.
● Wood Green School - A secondary school that also offers a sixth form option, Wood Green caters for children between the ages of 11 and 18. The school is about 15 minutes’ drive from our development, in the nearby town of Witney.
● Springfield School - Springfield is a special school that caters to children with special educational needs and disabilities. The school looks after children between the ages of 3 and 16 and is situated 17 minutes’ drive away from our development.
Living in Carterton
A largely rural town, Carterton is sandwiched between three national parks - the Cotswolds, the North Wessex Downs, and the Chilterns - all of which are within an hour's drive of our development.
There are also several parks within a 10-minute drive of our development, including Kilkenny Lane Country Park and Deer Park Wood.
With its many green spaces, Carterton has also developed a reputation for its excellent golf courses, with Witney Golf Centre just 7 minutes' drive from our development and Burford Golf Club being 8.
We're 15 minutes' walk from Crocodiles of the World – the only crocodile zoo in the UK (as of March 2025). The zoo houses 19 different species of crocodile and alligator, and regularly hosts additional events, such as their binturong and Galapagos tortoise exhibitions.
We're also less than 10 minutes' drive from the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens – a popular zoo that serves as home to a diverse collection of lemurs, porcupines, anteaters, burrowing owls, and more!
