Close to Edwalton Park you’ll find a popular, Ofsted rated ‘Good’ primary school, a post office, a Aldi superstore, a convenience store, a café and an ancient church which is the centre of community life. The village’s railway station closed in the 1960s, with the route now maintained as a cycle way and wildlife corridor, so those who love the great outdoors will find this a great place to spend time. For those who enjoy golf - or considering it up as a hobby - Edwalton and the surrounding areas have a great choice of clubs. Edwalton has its own highly regarded club, with two 9-hole courses, while Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club (18-hole) is 4 miles away, with Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club (also 18-hole) 6 miles away. 
 
Edwalton is just 20 minutes south of the city of Nottingham. This is a great place for everyday amenities, leisure attractions and things to do. For shopping, you’ll find the intu Victoria Centre, Broadmarsh Shopping Centre, the boutique shopping experience of Flying Horse Walk and the Exchange Arcade, all located in the centre of Nottingham’s retail heart. The A606 Melton Road runs directly from home into Nottingham city centre, while the M1 and other main routes including the A60, A46 and A52 are all nearby. From these roads, journeys can be made to Derby (approximately 20 miles), Leicester (24 miles) and Lincoln (38 miles). 
 
For train travel, Nottingham station is just over 2 miles from Edwalton Park, and provides regular services throughout the Midlands, including Birmingham New Street and Leeds (both around 1 hour 15 minutes), Manchester Oxford Road (1 hour 53 minutes) and London St Pancras (1 hour 40 minutes). Local bus travel is also simple, with a regular and reliable bus service around Edwalton, West Bridgford and into Nottingham. For air travel, East Midlands airport is just over 13 miles from Edwalton Park. 
 
Schools and education in Edwalton
