Where is Northampton?
Northampton falls squarely into the centre of the triangle between the cities of London, Birmingham, and Cambridge.
Its network of A-roads connect it to towns such as Kettering, Rugby, and Newport Pagnell, as well as Market Harborough and Towcester.
Transport in Northampton
Northampton has a 5-platform train station with two associated car parks located in the town centre. The station falls along the Northampton Loop branch of the West Coast Main Line and runs regular services to Birmingham New Street and London Euston. Local stations accessible by train include Coventry, Wolverton, and Rugby. Northampton also has a bus station at North Gate, where you can catch local services to suburbs such as Duston, Abington, and Great Billing.
Shopping in Northampton
There are plenty of shopping centres and retail parks in central Northampton, the most popular of which is the Grosvenor Shopping Centre. This complex houses over 50 shops and restaurants, including H. Samuel, JD Sports, Smiggle, Waterstones, and Warren James. Other popular shopping centres include Weston Favell, offering the likes of Holland & Barrett and Peacocks, and the St James Retail Park, which offers, amongst its other stores, The Range, Home Bargains, and Next.

Northampton is renowned for its green spaces, from the park around Delapré Abbey to the reservoirs near the River Nene and Little Houghton Motte. The town also has several golf courses at Delapré, Kingsthorpe, and Brampton Heath, while Northampton’s heritage is celebrated by museums at Abington Park, the Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, and 78 Derngate. There are also plenty of party activities around the town, from escape rooms at Horton’s Emporium to mini golf at Pin High Virtual Golf.

There's a single road that runs through it, which connects Upper to Lower Harlestone, and carries on until Northampton's town centre - which is about 20 minutes' drive away. The village is also just 12 minutes' drive from an M1 access point.
Abington
Conveniently situated in Central Northampton - with the town's major train station, major bus station and its major shopping centre, Grosvenor, all within walking distance - Abington is a lovely neighbourhood with plenty of green spaces to explore.
The neighbourhood borders Abington Park and is little over 20 minutes' drive from an M1 access point.
