The Area Colchester in Essex

LOCATION

Kingswood Heath is just north of Colchester, close to junction 28 of the A12 for easy access to Ipswich and Chelmsford, and the A120 to Braintree and Stansted Airport. London can be reached in approximately 90 minutes, and with great road links across Essex and to the Suffolk coast - the development is an ideal location for both commuters and families.

Things to do in Colchester Colchester is a large town with a rich history and a number of historic sites to visit, including Colchester Castle, the foundations of a Roman church and Gosbecks Archaeological Park. For shopping and socialising, the town is an ideal location for all the family. Three shopping centres are home to several high street brands and independent shops. There is also a range of restaurants, cafés, attractions and leisure facilities - including theatres, galleries and museums, along with Colchester’s football, golf and rugby clubs. Residents of Kingswood Heath are well-placed to explore the beautiful coast and countryside nearby - from the quaint waterfront town of Wivenhoe to the stunning Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within approximately 10 minutes’ drive of Kingswood Heath, nurseries include Lexden Montessori, Safari Childcare and The Beeches Pre-School. The new Camulos Academy Primary School has recently opened on the development, while Hamilton, Friar’s Grove and Monkwick Primary Schools all within 3 miles. For secondary education, St Helena and St Mary’s Schools are both within a mile of the development, while Colchester County High School for Girls and St Benedict’s Catholic College are both approximately 2 miles away. Close to the town centre is Colchester Royal Grammar School, providing education to boys aged 11-18, and which admits girls into co-educational sixth form education. Those looking for higher education will be close to the Colchester Campus of the University of Essex, which provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
