We are recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Head Office Finance Team in Measham, Swadlincote. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the already high standards of this family-run business.

As a family-owned company, we are one of the biggest and most successful UK housebuilders, and we’re always looking for new talent. We need a Purchase Ledger Assistant with five good GCSEs (at least Grade C or equivalent, including Maths & English) and good written, computer and ‘people’ skills.


  • Receive invoices and delivery notes and scan into Purchase Ledger system.
  • Index invoices and delivery notes.
  • Liaise with regions regarding ‘quick’ payments.
  • Liaise with suppliers re invoice queries, payments, credit notes and outstanding delivery notes.



  • Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Microsoft Navision/Dynamics accounting package
  • Experience of the house-building/construction sector (beneficial)
    • CIS
    • Retentions
    • VAT restrictions for new build housing
    • Costing of invoices to plot level
  • Good communication skills, written and spoken
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Self-starter
  • Problem solving skills
