We are recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Head Office Finance Team in Measham, Swadlincote. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the already high standards of this family-run business.

As a family-owned company, we are one of the biggest and most successful UK housebuilders, and we’re always looking for new talent. We need a Purchase Ledger Assistant with five good GCSEs (at least Grade C or equivalent, including Maths & English) and good written, computer and ‘people’ skills.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Receive invoices and delivery notes and scan into Purchase Ledger system.
- Index invoices and delivery notes.
- Liaise with regions regarding ‘quick’ payments.
- Liaise with suppliers re invoice queries, payments, credit notes and outstanding delivery notes.
KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS:
- Excel, Word, Outlook
- Microsoft Navision/Dynamics accounting package
- Experience of the house-building/construction sector (beneficial)
- CIS
- Retentions
- VAT restrictions for new build housing
- Costing of invoices to plot level
- Good communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong organisational skills
- Self-starter
- Problem solving skills
