This is an exciting time at Bloor Homes!  We are currently expanding and are recruiting a further Group Quality Manager to join our team at Head Office.

Working with key partners across the business, you will have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal - and proven experience within the House Building/Construction industry.  Working closely with the Group Quality Director and Senior Managers, you will identify approaches and methods to improve overall quality whilst monitoring construction performance and compliance with design on site. 

You will be responsible for our regional areas in the South and South West covering sites around Exeter, Swindon and Newbury.

We are looking for someone who has a good eye for detail, is inquisitive and provides solutions!  You will be driven by quality, well organised and tenacious.

Main Duties;

  1. Bloor Quality Audits of both work in progress and completed properties.
  2. Promote effective procedures for managing quality and resolution of items raised to allow production to complete all works within program timescales.
  3. Monitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements.
  4. Identify, record and follow up on any remediation requiring immediate action on site.
  5. Work with Group Quality Director and senior managers to identify approaches and methods to improve overall quality.
  6. Assist with the ongoing maintenance and development of “The Bloor Standard” document.
  7. Identify areas within the design that requires additional information to assist the site teams and avoid inconsistency and commercial issues.
  8. To perform defect investigations as and when problems arise (including customer complaints where applicable).
  9. Educate employees and trade people on the required standards by delivering In-House training and toolbox talks to construction teams on issues associated with build quality.
  10. Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
  11. Complying with and upholding legislation and company policy and procedures.
  12. Undertaking any additional tasks as my reasonably be required from time to time.

 

Essential Skills/Attributes:

  1. Proven experience within the House Building/Construction Industry.
  2. Working at or towards NVQ Level 6 Construction Management
  3. Detailed knowledge of the Building Regulations, house building standards (NHBC, LABC) and latent defect warranty schemes.
  4. Worked as or experienced working with Building Inspectors.
  5. Commercial awareness.
  6. IT Literate.
  7. Inquisitive and problem solving skills.
  8. Driven by quality and helping others build the best possible homes.
  9. Good communicator, insightful and persuasive.
  10. Be comfortable speaking in front of groups and having difficult conversations when required.
  11. Well organised and able to work alone and as a team.
  12. Willing to travel, sometimes at short notice.
  13. Be able to accommodate overnight stays.
