What Will Your Day Look Like? 

Reporting to the Planning Manager you will support the Land & Planning team in delivering planning applications throughout the region. You will provide valued advice on site appraisals for the Land department and manage planning queries as required. You should combine strong organisational skills with a proactive and forward thinking approach. A good understanding of relevant regulations and legislation is also important, plus the ability to develop excellent working relationships at all levels of the organisation and with third parties, including Planning Departments, Land Agents and Land Owners.

  • Delivering planning applications.
  • Producing site appraisals for the Land Team.
  • Preparing applications and negotiating planning permissions in conjunction with the Land and Design & Technical teams.
  • Support the Land and Planning Team in the identification and promotion of suitable land opportunities. 
  • Discharging conditions.
  • Providing ad-hoc advice on planning matters within the region as required.
  • Ultimately running specific sites on own account.
  • Liaising externally with Planning Departments, Land Agents and Land Owners.

What You'll Need To Succeed: 

  • Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in Local Authority or private sector.
  • Degree in appropriate subject
  • Understanding of Planning (policy and promotions) and Development Management (Planning Applications).
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to research 
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Able to show tact and diplomacy when dealing with third parties/committees etc.
