We are recruiting for an experienced Construction Director to join our Exeter Region. Our Construction Directors have an extremely diverse role, with no two days ever the same. Working in conjunction with other senior members within the region and with Head Offices support, they determine and implement strategy for the future growth and development of the business and take full responsibility for the Construction Department outputs. MAIN DUTIES

  • Lead the Construction Team to deliver a 5 star service for the business.
  • Ensuring that accurate build sequences and build programmes are prepared and agreed, which meet the needs of the business in respect of; quality, customer experience and budget delivery and to communicate these effectively to the business.
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are met within the sites and that there is effective liaison with the head office safety department to ensure that new standards are effectively communicated.
  • Ensuring that Contract Managers and Site Managers are aware of quality and delivery targets.
  • Monitoring build performance against budget projection and latest forecast and identifying reasons for delays or betterment and taking action where appropriate.
  • Ensuring product quality and development presentation meet or exceed the company standards.
  • Managing the personnel requirements of the Construction Department, including recruitment, induction, performance appraisals, training & development.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely production of relevant management reports.
  • Obtaining and retaining a complete up to date knowledge of the market conditions within which the Site Managers operate – material delivery, labour levels, etc.
  • Developing working relationships with chosen suppliers, sub-contractors and plant hire companies ensuring the required costs, quality and time requirements are met.
  • Assisting the surveying department in reviewing risk assessments, method statements and sub-contractor HSE scoring systems for all trades.
  • Ensuring an awareness of all customer satisfaction surveys and investigating sub- standard responses in conjunction with the Sales Director.
  • Feeding back information from customers to other departments and to ensure customer satisfaction and 5 star service is maintained at all times.
  • Regularly reviewing outstanding 10 day lists and on-going maintenance lists to ensure their timely completion.
