Bloor Homes granted permission for second phase in Etwall

The second phase, consisting of 99 new homes, of Bloor Homes’ popular Alms Meadow development in Etwall, has been given the green light.

South Derbyshire District Council has granted planning permission for a further 99 new homes to be built on land adjacent to the existing Bloor Homes development, off Willington Road.

This second phase of Alms Meadow, which features a range of three and four bedroom homes and around 1.09 hectares of open space, will bring the total number of properties at the development to 199.

Building work will start in early 2018 and the existing sales office will continue to deal with sales enquires.

Paul Degg, Regional Managing Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “We are very pleased to have secured planning permission for the second phase of our Alms Meadow development, which will deliver much-needed new housing for South Derbyshire.

“Etwall is an extremely desirable location for house buyers, and unsurprisingly there has already been a great deal of interest with over 60% of the homes in the first phase already sold since its launch in November. “

A total of 30% of the homes at the development will be provided as affordable housing and as part of the Section 106 planning agreement with South Derbyshire District Council, Bloor Homes will provide around £735,000 in funding for local services and infrastructure.

This will include £597,299 for schools and post-16 education, £85,700 towards recreational facilities, £50,000 towards footway improvements, and £2,861 towards a new waste handling facility for South Derbyshire.
