Part Exchange makes moving a breeze for Julie and Clive
Buying a new house for the first time proved plain sailing for upsizing couple Julie and Clive Balcombe
The pair, both 56, secured a fast and stress-free move to Bloor Homes’ Fen Meadow development in Nursling by taking advantage of the housebuilder’s Part Exchange scheme.
Julie and Clive had always previously lived in second-hand properties, but after seeing their daughter move to a new build development, they decided it was time to consider following suit.
After a lengthy search, they found their ideal home in the shape of a four-bedroom detached house at Fen Meadow.
Under the Home Exchange scheme, Bloor Homes took care of selling the couple’s old three-bedroom property in Southampton for them.
And just five weeks after purchasing their new home, the pair had accepted an offer from Bloor for their old place and moved into their new one.
Julie said: “When we first started our search, we weren’t particularly looking for a new build but the more we explored Fen Meadow the more interested we became.
“We loved the idea of moving in without having to carry out any major redecorating or do any work on the home, unlike homes we have previously moved into.
“Bloor’s sales team talked us through their Home Exchange scheme and we both felt it made perfect sense to use. We were very impressed with how quickly they were able to turn things around and the scheme removed the stress of selling our home on the market.
“This is our first new build home and we’ve both been impressed with our experience.”
The Part Exchange Scheme enables buyers to sell their existing property through the housebuilder, meaning they don’t have to worry about trying to find a buyer themselves or costly estate agents fees.
Bloor Homes will arrange for at least two estate agents to carry out independent valuations on the prospective buyer’s existing property – and then make an offer based on those valuations.
Julie and Clive had thought about moving house for some time but hadn’t been able to find anywhere which suited their needs.
That all changed when they discovered Fen Meadow, which located in the attractive village of Nursling, around five miles north west of Southampton.
With easy access to the M27 and M3, Fen Meadow is perfectly positioned for commuters, including Clive, whose journey to work in Salisbury has been cut since the couple moved to the development.
Julie said: “Fen Meadow just ticked every box for us. Clive’s very happy that his journey to work is now significantly shorter because we can have more time together in the evenings.
“We’ve also moved much closer to our daughter, who is now just five minutes’ drive away. Everything has worked out really well.”
