Bloor Homes South West sees surges in sales despite UK lockdown

Just one of the many benefits of buying a new home is the opportunity to personalise it to your tastes and a Bloor Homes survey confirmed that over half of the respondents cited this as a reason to buy new. But with so many interior options and designs across social media platforms it can become an overload of inspiration to know what will work best in your home. Housebuilder Bloor Homes has recently worked with Claude Hooper interior designs at its Acorns development in Melksham to create three stunning showhomes that are a far cry from the usual muted, neutral tones.

With the creation of mood boards and the thoughts behind the interiors, the designers have offered guidance on how to design your space with dramatic results.

The four-bedroom ‘Wyatt’ house type has a lovely layout with a wonderful kitchen and family room which is perfect for entertaining and family life.

The brief for this look was contemporary art deco, inspired by a black and gold interior.  The inspiration came from botanical palm leaf prints and metallic fabrics.  These were teamed with clean line furniture with gold detail, statement lighting and sumptuous velvets throughout, which created a warmth and depth that you would want to just sink into.

This is a perfect example of how black and gold delivers a modern minimalism and opulence in a beautiful timeless scheme.

In ‘The Hallam’, the four-bedroom home has been given a modern farmhouse twist, showcasing family life.  As soon as you step into the beautiful hallway you feel the warmth.  Chalky matt colours from Farrow and Ball sit alongside vibrant wallpaper.  This interior oozes colour and atmosphere with pops of mulberry and teal which sit really well with a wooden floor and grey shaker Kitchen.

Natural and painted wood furniture complement each other with clever use of layering of textures in soft furnishings, and carefully chosen accessories create a cosy interior. Mulberry duck wallpaper in the master bedroom creates a boutique hotel feel and wood panelling in the guest room is just one of the endless ideas that can be created in a new home.

Bloor Homes is also delighted that one of the bedrooms of this show home has been designed by the winner of a its ‘Design a Bedroom’ competition with pupils from Rivermead school.

The three bedroom ‘Byron’ house type was inspired by nature, and botanicals are in the forefront of the design which is a simple design to adapt and copy.  The interiors demonstrate a clever use of citrus paint colours and show a simple way to decorate. The uplifting yellow and leafy shades of green make really energise the rooms and these citrus hues work well with the light base throughout and light flooring.

This modern interior works well with natural and white furniture and a small amount of matt black gives a smart sharp edge. Clean lines and the simplicity of the paint colours and panels create a contemporary fresh interior. Bedroom three has a day bed and a desk showing how the adaptable space can be used as either a home office or game room. The rooms have been styled with plants, basket ware and natural textures to create this feel good interior.

Speaking of the designs, Nikki Taylor, Marketing Manager at Bloor Homes South West said, “The interiors of our showhomes at The Acorns are stunning.  The attention to detail in every room beautifully complements the layout of each home and showcases exactly how a buyer could design their space to create a striking, timeless living space.

“It’s not surprising that the feedback we’ve had from visitors has been so positive. The opportunity to put your own stamp onto a new home is a factor that appeals to many new home buyers and our show homes in Melksham are providing a huge amount of inspiration to visitors.
