A prime location in Totnes for GP Ruth

For newly qualified GP, Ruth Darlow, who was searching for the perfect new home to put down roots in the charming historic market town of Totnes, Bloor Homes’ Baltic Wharf development certainly ticked all the boxes.

Ruth, aged 49, who is originally from the South East, moved to Totnes to complete her training to become a GP.

Ruth explains: “I was living in a rental flat at the top of the hill here in Totnes. Having completed my training, I decided I wanted to settle here and put down roots in Totnes. Location was really important to me; I wanted to live within walking distance of the town centre, so at the weekends I could park up and leave my car on the drive and stroll into town, to the shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as the train station.

“Off-road Parking was also essential for me and homes in Totnes with this are few and far between. Baltic Wharf delivered on both of my top two criteria. The town centre is just a five-minute walk away and the mid-terrace townhouse I purchased has an integral garage.

“I love that the house is so light and bright, with big windows. The second floor is dedicated to a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge, which is a great social space.

“The whole process from finding to buying and then moving in to my new home was all very fast and efficient and was completed within a month. I had already sold my property in the South East, so was ready to go, but it was certainly a very smooth move with Bloor Homes.

“I was also very impressed with the finish of the house. I have bought a new build previously and the snagging list was extensive. With my home at Baltic Wharf, there were just five items on the list!

“I would certainly recommend Baltic Wharf to family and friends; it’s a fabulous location in Totnes. I’m very happy with my new home.”
