Work begins on Bluebell Green development

Construction work has started on the first phase of a new housing development in Brereton near Holmes Chapel.

National housebuilder Bloor Homes has started building the first 76 homes on a 16-hectacre site off London Road.

When complete the development, known as Bloor Homes at Bluebell Green, will feature 190 new homes set within an attractive area of public open space, which will include a nature reserve and children’s play area.

The housebuilder is set to release the first phase of homes early next year, which will feature a mixture of two, three four and five-bedroom homes.

Rhys Nicholson, Regional Managing Director at Bloor North West, said: “Starting work on a new development always fills us with excitement and it’s great to see the first homes on site taking shape.
“Since we first announced our plans to build near Holmes Chapel, we have been inundated with enquires by potential buyers. The site benefits from an easy commute to the M6, a range of well-regarded schools and good local amenities, making it an ideal development for families and commuters.

“As-well-as providing much needed homes in the Holmes Chapel area, our development will also create attractive public open space and contribute significantly to improving infrastructure within the town.
“With work already progressing at a good pace, we’re hoping to release our first homes and invite home-hunters to the development early next year.”

As part of the Section 106 agreement with Cheshire East Council, Bloor Homes will provide £1,063,760 in financial contributions to the local area. This will include £550,376 towards highways improvements, £473,938 towards education, and funding for public rights of way improvements.
