First to move in at Oakley Meadow

Richard and Christine are the first residents to move into Bloor Homes' Oakley Meadow development in Bishops Tachbrook village. Both have been blown away by the space they have and the quality of finish of their new home.

Richard Brookes and Christine Smith, both 43, have relocated to Bloor Homes’ Oakley Meadow development from their previous home in the village.

The couple and their two-year-old daughter Tilly, picked up the keys to their new four-bedroom detached house shortly after construction work on the property was completed.

Located off Oakley Wood Road at the southern end of the village, the Oakley Meadow development will comprise 150 new homes with allotments and 24,578 square metres of open space.

Construction work on the first homes began in February last year, with the sales office and showhome opening in September.

Consulting engineer Richard and secondary school teacher Christine were keen to stay in the village and chose to move to Oakley Meadow after visiting Bloor Homes’ Kineton Meadows development just down the road in Kineton.

Richard said: “With Tilly growing up so quickly we felt we were outgrowing our previous home. We were desperate to stay close to Bishop’s Tachbrook, so we went to have a look at the Bloor houses at Kineton Meadows and were absolutely blown away by both the style and quality of finish in the house.

“After seeing the Bloor houses in Kineton we were really excited at the prospect of heading down to Oakley Meadow and being able to remain in the village.

“We’ve secured a beautiful home with a big family room which runs the width of the house at the rear and is just perfect for the family life we wanted. We can't believe the space we have, the quality of finish and the peace and quiet we enjoy.”

Michele Rose, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “It’s always special to welcome the first residents at a new development into their home and we are delighted that Richard and Christine are enjoying their new life at Oakley Meadow.

“Bishop’s Tachbrook is a beautiful village so it is no surprise that Richard and Christine were so keen to stay here. We have received a number of enquiries from villagers interested in moving to Oakley Meadow, which I think is a testament to how well the development has been designed to blend in sympathetically with the character of the village.”
