Ravenettes flying high with Bloor Homes backing
A rapidly growing girls football club has been given a major boost by national housebuilder Bloor Homes. Coalville Town Ravenettes, the leading girls football club in North West Leicestershire, is being sponsored for the 2017-18 season by Measham-based developer Bloor Homes.
As part of the sponsorship deal, the Ravenettes under 12s side, known as the Rookettes, will play their matches in a brand new Bloor Homes-branded kit.
Formed in 2014, the Ravenettes have grown from a small group of girls to a squad of more than 90 players, making it the third largest girls football team in the county.
The club now has 11 teams registered from under 8s to under 15s, and aims to grow until it has a side at every age group.
Gary Mulligan, manager of the Rookettes under 12s, said: “The girls have only been together for a few short months so receiving this generous sponsorship from Bloor Homes is a massive boost. Not only have we got a brand new kit, but we will also be able to provide the girls with training equipment to improve their skills.”
As well as being based in Measham, Bloor Homes is currently building new homes at the Oak Tree Gardens development in nearby Donington le Heath.
Michele Rose, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting Coalville Town Ravenettes for the 2017-18 season.
“It’s great to see so many young girls playing competitive football and we hope our sponsorship will enable the club to encourage even more youngsters to take up the game.”
