Anstey site manager scoops prestigious award
The site manager at Bloor Homes' development in Anstey is celebrating after picking up a coveted industry award.
John Jenkins has been named as a winner in the first round of the National House Building Council’s 2018 Pride in the Job Awards.
The accolade has been awarded in recognition of his work at the Bloor Homes in Anstey development off Cropston Road, where John and his team began construction work in July last year.
The 57-year-old from Leicestershire is among a select band of just 450 site managers in the UK to receive a Quality Award for achieving the highest standards in construction.
He will now go forward to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Award, the winners of which will be announced in the autumn.
It is the fourth Pride in the Job Award that John has won in his 28 years as a site manager, and his first with Bloor Homes after joining the company last year.
He said: “A Pride in the Job is the award that every site manager wants to win so I’m absolutely delighted to receive one in my first year with Bloor Homes. It’s a real testament not only to the hard work and professionalism of the team on site but also the quality of the materials provided by Bloor.
“To win this award you have to be a perfectionist and have an eye for detail. Everything has got to be just right and I’m fortunate to have a very strong team behind me who share this commitment to quality. I’m really pleased with how the site is progressing and I’m determined to maintain these high standards right through until we complete the development.”
