Not just for Christmas: Bloor Homes supports Northampton Hope Centre
Bloor Homes’ South Midlands region, headquartered in Northampton, collected a range of items, from selection boxes, coffee, tea and sugar, to toothbrushes, shaving foam and deodorant across all 7 of its developments across the region as well as the regional office itself to help local charity Northampton Hope Centre throughout the Christmas period.
The collection is part of Bloor Homes’ ongoing support for the charity which provides vital support to those facing poverty and homelessness across Northampton, working with thousands of people every year, offering practical help, emotional support, and training to improve lives and opportunities. This includes:
- providing support to more than 12,000 visitors to the centre each year
- serving 35,000 meals to those in need last year
- delivering more than 40,000 food parcels, annually
In the autumn, three members of staff at Bloor Homes’ South Midlands region also ran the Amazing Northampton Run for the charity, completing the half marathon and raising £1065.
Bloor Homes’ Regional Managing Director, Carl Slater, said “Whilst the Christmas collection for was really important, we are proud to support this local charity.
“Participating in these events is as much about raising awareness for Northampton Hope Centre as it is making the donation, with the aim of inspiring staff and their families to get involved. Well done to everyone who supported the collection and to our team members, Katie Coles, Jason Hart and James Cockroft who ran the half marathon.”
Chris Potter from the Hope Centre, said: “We depend on the support of our local community to make a difference to people in Northampton who really need help, starting with the basics – food, a hot drink and toiletries. As a large local employer, we really value Bloor Homes’ help and would love to hear from other businesses who would like to get involved.”
Chris and his team provided Bloor Homes with a list of items for the Christmas collection and posters were put up in all the development sales centres where residents and locals could donate, but more is needed all year around as demand increases.
